Joi Chevalier, Founder and CEO of The Cook’s Nook, has been honored with the Les Dames d’Escoffier International (LDEI) Women of Purpose Growth Grant in partnership with YETI! This prestigious grant of $2,500 celebrates Joi’s impactful work in food justice, public health, and sustainability.
LDEI is an international organization of women leaders who create a supportive culture in their communities to achieve excellence in the fields of food, beverage, and hospitality. The organization’s 2,800 members in 42 chapters in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, France, and Italy provide leadership, educational opportunities, and philanthropy.
LDEI started with one chapter in New York City in 1976, founded by Dame Carol Brock. Today, LDEI is composed of 44 chapters in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, France and Italy, totaling over 2,600 women leaders in the fields of food, beverage and hospitality.
Women of Purpose Award recognizes a Dame who has made a meaningful impact within local and global communities by advancing food systems and addressing complex issues like food security and equitable access to nutrition. With this grant, The Cook’s Nook will expand on its mission of “food as medicine,” enhancing transparency with USDA Child Nutrition labeling and increasing access to nutritious, culturally relevant meals that make a lasting difference.
Thank you to LDEI for this incredible recognition and support to take The Cook’s Nook to the next level and continue improving lives through healthy, accessible food!
Joi also had the pleasure of meeting Carla Hall, a renowned chef, a best-selling author, and a beloved television personality. Congratulations to Carla Hall on receiving the 2024 Grande Dame Award!
